Ellen Wischer, age 93, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Monday, January 23, 2023, at the Prairie Home Hospice – Lockwood House in Marshall, Minnesota. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2023, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Marshall, Minnesota. Interment will be in the Marshall Cemetery, followed by a reception back at the church. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church just before the service, from Noon until the time of her celebration at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall.
Ellen Marie (Evenson) Wischer was born on September 20, 1929, in Brocket, North Dakota. She was one of 16 children born to Enock and Ella (Olson) Evenson. Ellen was baptized and confirmed at the Hoff Lutheran Church in Brocket where she also attended school. She was united in marriage to Albert Wischer in Michigan ND on October 10, 1947. The couple moved to rural Minnesota where they farmed northeast of Ghent for 24 years. They moved to Marshall in 1971 where she worked for the Schott Corporation until her retirement in 1996. Ellen was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota before their move to Marshall and has since been a longtime member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. She enjoyed embroidery, puzzles, playing cards, baking (especially her chocolate chip cookies), flowers, and time spent at the lake with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ellen Wischer died on Monday, January 23, 2023, in Marshall, Minnesota. She had reached the age of 93 years, 4 months, and 3 days. Blessed be her memory.
She is survived by her 4 children, Carol (and Bob) Schroeder of Marshall, Deb Christiansen of Ottertail, Ronald (and Sue) Wischer of Minneota, Gary (and Lou) Wischer of Marshall; 9 grandchildren, Amy Schroeder, Tom Schroeder, Jon (and Brittany) Christiansen, Sara (and Mark) Oscarson, Daniel (and Amber) Wischer, Benjamin Wischer, Kim (and Matt) Baltus, Kayla Morrison, Kyle Wischer; 11 great-grandchildren, Leah, Colton, Zachary, Holden, Reid, Evett, Brecklin, Meah, Hunter, Ellie, Liam; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Enock and Ella Evenson; husband, Albert Wischer in 2004; son-in-law, Rick Christiansen in 2021; 11 brothers; and 4 sisters.
