Elfriede Johnson, age 87 of Slayton formerly of Tracy, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at home surrounded by family. Graveside Services will be held in June in Colorado. Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Elfriede Magdalena (Kaiser) Johnson was born June 9, 1935 to August and Maria (Ocks) Kaiser in Germany. She married Bill Johnson on February 17, 1954. Elfriede enjoyed garage selling, playing bingo, slot machines and doing crafts with her children and grandchildren. She never met a stranger and everybody was her friend or family. Elfriede was always there to lend a smile, hug, and helping hand.
Elfriede is survived by her seven children: Ellen (Helmut) Leinhos, Maria (Ronnie) Jacques, Liz Abeyta, Kathy Honeycutt, Jim Johnson, Virginia (Della) Chadbourne, Monica (Ronald) Ackerman and Mark Hatten; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill and grandson Neal.
