A celebration of life for Donald “Don” Dretsch, 69, of Marshall, will be on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Rehkamp Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will take place one hour before the service at the funeral home. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Military rites provided by American Legion Post 113 of Marshall.

Donald Denis Dretsch was born on December 2, 1949, in Perham, MN, to LeRoy and Edith (Graham) Dretsch. Don grew up and graduated high school in Frazee. He graduated from vocational school in Detroit Lakes before joining the Army. Don served in Bamburg, Germany, as a tank driver and radio repair technician. On September 22, 1978, Don was united in marriage to Bonnie Bauer in St. Peter, MN. The couple made their home in Marshall, where he worked at Harvest States Elevator. Don then spent 24 years as a custodian for Marshall Public Schools, retiring in 2014. In his spare time, Don could be found hunting, fishing, reading, and gaming. He especially enjoyed spending time with family. Don served as an Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 320 of Marshall for several years. He was also a member of Wood Badge.

Don died in his home on Monday, July 15, 2019. He is survived by his wife Bonnie of Marshall; son Kyle of Woodbury; brothers Rodney (Margie) of Rochester and Alan of Frazee; sisters Marie of Frazee and Lori of Fargo; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents LeRoy and Edith, and two infant daughters Lindsay and Christa.
