Deloris DiSisto, age 92, of Canby, MN, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025 at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 pm on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Canby. Visitation will be held Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury, Connecticut. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Canby is entrusted with the arrangements.
Deloris Audrey (Hasner) DiSisto was born on August 8, 1932, in Watertown, South Dakota, to Fred and Gida (Groven) Hasner. She spent her early years in Summit, SD, where she attended and graduated from the local country school after completing the 8th grade. In 1948, the family moved to Fortier Township near Canby, Minnesota, and later settled in the town of Canby, where her parents managed the Park Hotel. Deloris pursued a one-year business course in Minneapolis, MN, and upon graduation, worked as a recapitulation clerk for a debt adjustment company. Throughout her life, she also worked in a dress factory, served as a home health aide, and provided care in a nursing home. On May 18, 1963, Deloris married Anthony “Tony” DiSisto in Waterbury, Connecticut. Tony preceded her in death on June 3, 1989. The couple had no children.
Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony DiSisto; her parents, Fred and Gida Hasner; her in-laws; and her siblings: Dean, Howard, and Clayton Hasner; and sisters Dorothy, Freda, Audrey, and Lavina. She is survived by her brother, Ralph Hasner; her sister, Shirley Markegard; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws in Connecticut.
