Debbie K. Kloos, age 62, of Gary, SD passed away Friday, December 6, 2019 at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby, MN. Memorial service will 11 a.m. Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Gary, SD. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Debbie Kay Kloos was born June 9, 1957 in Canby, Minnesota to Jack William and Lorretta Carol (Olafson) Hentges. She was raised near Gary, SD where she attended school. She was baptized and confirmed in the United Methodist Church in Gary. Following her education, she worked at the Turkey Plant in Marshall, MN before moving to Pipestone, MN where she attended Votech. She moved to Rolfe, Iowa where she worked as a seamstress. Debbie moved Humboldt, IA and worked for Northwest Fabrics. During this time, Debbie attended college in Fort Dodge, IA for horticulture. When her health declined, she moved to Canby and was one of the first recipients of a pancreas and kidney transplant in 1988.

Debbie met Jay Blum and moved to an acreage near Gary, SD where she cleaned for Viessman Trucking for many years. Jay passed away on December 17, 2017. As Debbie’s health declined, she entered the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby in July of 2019. She passed away Friday, December 6, 2019 at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home at the age of 62.

Debbie enjoyed shopping, having home interior parties, decorating and sewing. She was loved by many which Debbie cherished her visits over a cup of coffee. She loved her dogs, especially her cocker spaniel named Candy.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter: Melissa (Mike Sik) Kloos, Walnut Grove, MN; four grandchildren: Cassandra Jo Waltz, Kalya Catelyn Waltz, Brandon Jay Waltz and Christian Nichlas Waltz; four great-grandchildren: Nora Elizabeth Bliss, Charlee Jae Ramos, Benjamin Arthur Ramos and Genevieve Loretta Rose Lamorie; father, Jack William Hentges; siblings: Sherry Hemmingson, Viki Kiley and Michael Hentges; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta Hentges; sister: Holly Ann Hentges; nephew, Curt Hemmingson; grandparents: Clarence and Lola Olafson and Pete and Edith Hentges.
