A public visitation for DeAnn Deutz Poor will be Friday, June 23, 2023, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall, with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Interment will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery Columbarium in Marshall.
DeAnn Jane Deutz Poor was born on February 19, 1939, in Marshall, MN, the middle of 13 children born to Frank and Augusta (Sarazyn) Deutz. She grew up on the family farm north of town and graduated from Central Catholic High School in Marshall. DeAnn married Richard Poor, JR, in 1962 in San Francisco. They had 3 children moved to a suburb of DC, Gaithersburg, MD; they eventually divorced. DeAnn worked extremely hard and eventually was a part owner in a Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Center in Rockville. She retired early and spent the last 25 years in Boynton Beach, FL.
DeAnn died on Thursday, August 18, 2022, under hospice care with DeAnn’s family in Reston, VA. She is survived by her three children and their families: Elizabeth (Tom) Morina, Tiffany DeMino, and Christina Barbeau. She is also survived by 3 siblings: Bill (Becky) Deutz of Marshall, Laura (Richard) Duthoy of Maryland, Dan (Katie) Deutz of Lake Benton. Awaiting her at heaven’s gate are her parents Frank and Augusta Deutz, and 9 siblings: Jim Deutz, Peg Porter, John Deutz, Audrey Blair, Ramona Smith, Ted Deutz, Gary Deutz, Pat Deutz, and Paul Deutz.
