Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

The baby of the family, David Alan Schwaegerl, was born August 6, 1961 and raised in Redwood Falls, MN by parents Jim and Joyce (Kieper) Schwaegerl. He learned to give wet willies, play dirty at card games, and how to annoy his big sister Julie and brother Tim. David was a proud Air Force veteran, serving as a Sargent working on Minutemen missiles, who kept close connections to his Minot, ND base throughout his lifetime. He worked most of his career at the Hutchinson 3M, and retired only a few years ago. He spent his time, money, and passions with friends and family — riding (and fixing) motorcycles, racing (and fixing) snowmobiles, attaining his pilot’s license and flying a small plane like his grandfather, tinkering with engines of all shapes and sizes, and keeping an appreciation for a good sound system — the kind with bass you can feel driving down the street.

David will be deeply missed by his father James Schwaegerl; sister Julie (Darryl) Rothmeier; brother Timothy (Mary) Schwaegerl; his heartbroken nieces and nephews and their families: Becky Rothmeier, Tom Rothmeier, Stephanie (Michelle) Jakubek, Kelsey (Jason) Bartosh, Kale (Kelsey) Schwaegerl, Catherine (Brandon) Campbell; and extended family, friends, and acquaintances who knew his quiet generosity.  He joins his mother Joyce, his best friend Rick Seaman, and his beloved cats Shadow and Rusty on the other side.
