David B. Olson, age 86, of Hendricks, MN, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at his home in Hendricks. Visitation will be at 10 AM on Monday October 17, 2022 with funeral service to follow at 11 AM at Christ Lutheran Church in Hendricks, MN with Rev. Darren Shaw officiating. Burial will be in the Hendricks City Cemetery. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Hendricks, MN is entrusted with the arrangements.
David Benjamin Olson was born December 15, 1935, to Bennie and Ida (Ness) Olson on the family farm in Hansonville Township, Lincoln County, MN. He was raised on the farm and attended country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Hendricks High School in 1954. David was united in marriage to Gaylyne Pederson on June 10, 1956, in the Calvary Church in Hendricks. They made their home on David’s family farm north of Hendricks where they farmed and raised their family. During this time, David also was an auctioneer for 37 years. In 2018, they moved from the farm into Hendricks where they continued to enjoy their retirement. He was a member of the Faith Brethren Lutheran Church in Hendricks. David served on various boards in the Hendricks Community throughout his life. He had a love for dogs and horses and had a wonderful sense of humor.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife: Gaylyne Olson, Hendricks, MN; three children: Joni (Brian) Luchtenburg, Edgerton, MN, Brad (Lynn) Olson, Alexandria, MN and Tom (Shelly) Olson, Hendricks, MN; three grandchildren: Lacie (Kevin) Audo, Samantha Luchtenburg and Ben Olson; two great grandchildren: Nolan and Declan Audo; sisters-in-law: Margaret Olson, June Barker, and Marilyn Pederson; brother-in-law: Rodney (Kathy) Pederson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. David was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy Joy; brother, Omey Olson and sister, Bevelyn Olson.
