Daren Pochardt, age 44, of Austin, Texas, died on Wednesday, November 27, 2019.  Funeral Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Island Lake Township, Minnesota. Interment will follow in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Island Lake Township, Minnesota.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Island Lake Township, Minnesota.

Daren Jon Pochardt was born to Dale and Doris (Olson) Pochardt on September 26, 1975, in Marshall, Minnesota.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Daren attended grade school in Lynd and graduated from Marshall High School with the class of 1994.  He then went on to Willmar Vo-Tech for two years.

Daren moved to Texas in 1996 where he worked for ColoVista Golf Club and resort in Bastrop, Texas, as a chef.  Work then brought him to Austin, Texas, where he worked for Stonebridge Company at Embassy Suites – Austin Central and for the Perfect 10 Cabaret.

Daren’s interests included cooking, fishing, playing Bingo, and watching sports.  He was a Vikings football fan and was involved in Fantasy Football.  Daren was often found enjoying his favorite beverage with family and friends.  He loved country western music and enjoyed attending various concerts in Texas.

Daren Pochardt died on November 27, 2019, in Austin, Texas, at the age of 44 years, 2 months, and 1 day.  Blessed be his memory.

Daren is survived by his mother, Doris Pochardt of Marshall; brother, Duane (Jolene) Pochardt of Aberdeen, SD; sister, Darcy West (Jeff) of Jeffers, MN; nieces, Joslin West and Amberly West; uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Daren is preceded in death by his father, Dale Pochardt; sister, Diane Pochardt; nephews, DJ Pochardt, Nickolas Pochardt; grandparents, Walter and Leona Olson, Walter and Viola Pochardt; uncle, Rollie Dale; and cousin, Jeff Dale.
