Daniel Lacek, age 77, of Canby Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the Hendricks Nursing Home in Hendricks, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Canby. Burial will be at the St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Canby. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the Houseman Funeral Home in Canby. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service to the church on Friday. The Houseman Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Daniel (Danny) Robert Lacek was born May 9, 1942 to Michael and Clara (Sik) Lacek on the family farm near Hendricks, MN. He was raised there and attended country school. Following his education, he joined the National Guard in Clear Lake, SD. Danny then met the love of his life Marlene Ronne and they were united in marriage May 20, 1965. The couple made their home near Canby, MN where he farmed and worked at the Canby Creamery. In 1973 Danny purchased his first milk truck to start his career in hauling milk. He continued hauling milk until he retired in 2005.

Danny loved spending time with his family and playing with his grandkids. No matter what he was doing he usually had his cassettes going with his favorite country and rock n’ roll songs. Danny and Marlene enjoyed taking cruises around town in his 1964 Impala. His hobbies included his game farm, working on cars and tractors, collecting die cast cars and dancing. Danny passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the age of 77 at the Hendricks Community Nursing Home.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Marlene Lacek; five children: Brian (Jill) Lacek, Milbank SD, Connie (Darroll) Lacek, Astoria SD, Jeff (Andrea) Lacek, Tea SD, Tim (Naree) Lacek, Brandt SD, and Dean (Amy) Lacek, Toronto SD; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers: Walter (Josie) Lacek, Canby, MN and Andrew (Evelyn) Lacek, Canby, MN, one sister, Janet (Larry) Binnebose, Woodlake MN and many nieces and nephews.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Clara (Sik) Lacek, brother, Floyd Lacek and sister, Betty Rassmusen.
