Cyrilla A. MacDonald, age 98, of Redwood Falls and formerly of Wabasso, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at River Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Redwood Falls, Minnesota.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso with burial to follow at the St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery in Wabasso. A visitation will be held one hour prior to her service from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.  at the church.  The Nelson-Hillestad Funeral and Cremation Service of Redwood Falls is in charge of the arrangements.

Cyrilla Anne MacDonald was born on August 10, 1927 to August and Agnes (Fangman) Lensing on a farm near Wabasso in Waterbury Township. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She attended St. Anne’s Grade School and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1945.  She was the bookkeeper at the Creamery for several years and Land O Lakes, in Arden Hills in the finance department for 30 years.  Cyrilla was a member of St. Olaf Catholic Church in downtown Minneapolis. She volunteered for the church as an usher, hospitality and funerals. She also volunteered for many organizations with the Land O Lakes Volunteer Group.  In 2010 she moved back to Wabasso and became a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She was a member of CCW and Catholic United Financial.  On August 20, 1966 Cyrilla married John MacDonald at the St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. They lived in New Brighton all of their married life. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, sewing and knitting. She and her husband enjoyed traveling.

Cyrilla is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, John in 2001; parents, sisters, Margaret (Ed) Fischer, Marcella (Lawrence) Plaetz; brothers, Donald Lensing and Cyrilla’s twin brother Cyril (Mary) Lensing.
