Curtis Wayne Shaw was born November 9, 1927 to Roy and Hazel (Severson) Shaw in Dovray Township, Murray County, Minnesota. When he was young, he attended a country school by Dovray. From a young age, Curt loved playing and watching baseball, especially the Twins. Curt played for the Tracy Engineers for many years, taking line hops off his chest, always enthusiastic and spitting that chew he always had in his cheek. On December 13, 1950, Curtis married the love of his life Dolores McClain at the Norwegian Lutheran Church in Westbrook. The couple lived by Milroy for a few years, before settling on a farm near Garvin. There they raised quarter horses. Curt was the only one in the state of Minnesota to register quarter horses for 50 years. He enjoyed working with horses, hunting, and dancing. Curtis loved spending time with his family and friends.
Curtis is survived by his children: Bradley (Mary) Shaw, Jacqueline (Thomas) Olson, Bryan Shaw, Brent (Debra) Shaw, Jill (Jim) Skurat and Barry (Robin Dorenkamper) Shaw; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Linda Shaw of Tracy and Lee Shaw of Marshall; sister-in-law, Lois Shaw of Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Dolores of 72 years, grandson Corey Olson, brothers Clint, Kenny and Bob and half siblings Verna, Ruby, Lucille and Chester.
