Clemance Citterman, age 94, of Hendricks, MN passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Prairie Home Hospice in Marshall, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m on Thursday, February 8th at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno, MN. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery in Wilno, MN. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel of Hendricks, MN is entrusted with arrangements.

Clemance Peter Citterman was born on August 30, 1929 near Ivanhoe, Minnesota on the Citterman family farm in Royal Township, son of Joseph and Agnes (Friske) Citterman. He was baptized, received first holy communion and was confirmed at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno, MN. He was raised in the Catholic faith and was a lifelong member of the church.  Clemance attended country school in District 13 of Royal Township and Ivanhoe Public School and then worked on the family farm. Clemance was proud of his work as a farmer and often spent time driving around Section 8 Royal Township and looking at the fields and farms.  Clemance married Theresa Popelier on October 3, 1960. To this union, they had two sons: Archie Clemance Citterman and Mark Allen Citterman.  Clemance enjoyed traveling and had many special memories of his trips to Nashville, TN, Branson, MO, Yellowstone, and a bus tour of the Rockies.  Clemance will be remembered for his strong faith, his dedication to his family, and his love of John Deere.

Grateful for having shared Clemance’s life is his wife of 63 years, Theresa Citterman; his two children, Archie (Connie) Citterman, Ivanhoe, MN and Mark (Sara) Citterman, Hendricks, MN; four grandchildren: Nathaniel Citterman, Morgan Citterman, Allison Citterman, and Jacob Citterman; brother, Ferdinand Citterman; his twin brother, Ray (Joyce) Citterman; sister, Evelyn Panka; sister, Esther Hoffman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Clemance was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Agnes Citterman; sisters, Clara Biranowski, Bernice Chlub, and Leona Hauschild; and brothers, Ambrose Citterman and Emil Citterman.
