The funeral service for Catherine Thovson, 64, of Marshall, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Living Word Lutheran Church in Marshall. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at the Marshall Cemetery.
Catherine Louise Thovson was born on June 20, 1956, in Marshall, to Melvin and Jane (Bursack) Thovson. She grew up and attended grade school in Porter and graduated from Canby High School in 1974. In 1977, she began working at B&H Electronics in Marshall and continued until 2012 due to health reasons. Catherine enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting and bird watching. She will be remembered for her sunny disposition and pleasant demeanor.
Catherine died on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. She is survived by her mother, Jane Bednarek and step-father, Archie Bednarek, of Marshall, sister Susan Rebel of South Carolina, two nephews, one niece, one great-nephew and two great nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin, brother, Norman Thovson and nephew Matt Thovson.
