Carol Stenhaug, 83 beloved wife and mother, passed into the arms of the Lord on June 2, 2019 at the Alomere Hospital in Alexandria, Minnesota. Carol was born in Canby, Minnesota on January 6, 1936 and graduated from Canby High School in 1954. She attended St. Olaf College where she met her husband of over 62 years, Ted Stenhaug. Ted and Carol were married on August 25, 1956 at our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Canby. To this union were born three children; Kathy (Rusty) Kern of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Paul Stenhaug of Stillwater, Minnesota and Mark (Beckie) Stenhaug of Carterville, Illinois.

Carol took great pride in making a home for her family and enjoyed music, being a proficient pianist and having taught piano. Carol also enjoyed decorating the family homes. Carol was the wedding coordinator for St. Olaf Lutheran Church while in Fort Dodge for many years. Carol enjoyed vacations at the Stenhaug family cabin on Lake Miltona, near Alexandria.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Mabel Peterson of Canby and her brother, Dennis Peterson. In addition to her husband and their children, Carol is survived by her grandson Adam Stenhaug of Carbondale, Illinois, her sisters Dianne Schulte of Littleton Colorado and Eileen Bresser of Canby, sister-in-law JoAnn (Bill) Fermenich, of Circle Pines, Minnesota, Brother-in-law Wally (Sandy) Stenhaug of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Brother-in-law Dennis Stenhaug of Casper, Wyoming and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services are being held at the Birk Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. in Canby, Minnesota on Saturday, June 8, 2019. Interment will be at the Canby City Cemetery.
