Carl Walter Huth was born on May 16, 1936, to Walter Huth and Violet Bourne Cordingly in Montevideo, Minnesota. He grew up working on the farm with his father. At age 17, he bought his beloved 1951 B John Deere tractor. He joined the National Guard in 1952 and remained farming with his father who had debilitating diabetes. In 1956, he married Beth Warme, and shortly after the farm and machinery were sold, they moved to the Twin Cities in 1957. Carl worked for his cousin in a sewer, plumbing and heating business. The company sold in 1964.  Carl bought a farm north of Canby, MN and started farming again. In 1973, he started working part-time at Farmer’s Co-op as a plumber and full-time in 1976. Carl retired in 2001 after 27 years.  Thirty-four years ago, Carl met Kimberly Peterson and they began their life together. Carl sold the farm in 1996 and they moved to Canby. Carl continued to spend time growing crops, but on a small scale. He and Kim grew pumpkins and many vegetables at Kim’s childhood homestead from 2002 until October 2023 when he was diagnosed with cancer.
