Anthony “Butch” Mark Dickey, age 63 of Lucan, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery – Redwood Falls. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Stephens Funeral Service -Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Anthony “Butch” M. Dickey was born July 11, 1960 to Raymond N. and Margaret R. (Dewberry) Dickey in Worthington, Minnesota. Anthony grew up in Bigelow and attended school in Bigelow and Worthington. In October 1977, Anthony enlisted in the US Army, a point of pride for his father, Raymond. At Ft. Bragg (now Liberty) Anthony completed jump school as part of the 82nd Airborne Division. He was also stationed at Redstone Arsenal by Huntsville, AL and later received his honorable discharge in October 1980. Following his service, he attended Jackson Vo-Tec School for his electrician degree. In Jackson, he met Margaret Wagner. They were married on July 14, 1983. During their 14 year marriage they had four children. He then joined the IBEW Union Local 343 and worked with them for over 20 years. In 2006, Anthony’s relationship with Donna Christensen began and they made many memories together since then. Anthony was part of AA for the past five years and attended weekly. To pass the time he enjoyed crossword puzzles and logic games. Anthony loved hunting, traveling and riding motorcycle.
Anthony is survived by his children: Taniyah Dickey of Zimmerman, Evan Dickey of Mammoth Hot Springs, WY, Courtney Dickey of Willmar and Mikal Dickey of Alexandria, VA; partner Donna Christensen of Lucan; siblings: Margaret Kraus of West St. Paul, Sandie Konnad (Donna) Rancho Mirage, CA, Audrey Zimmerman of Minneapolis, Mary (Mike) Roth of Ocheyedan, IA, Mike (Cindy) Dickey of Elk River and Jim Dickey of Worthington; sister-in-law Marylou Reeves of Pine City; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond N. & Margaret Dickey and siblings: June Reeves, Geral Reeves, Anthony Reeves, Raymond T. Dickey & Pamela Dickey.
