Brad Vick, age 55, of Toronto, SD passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center.  Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22nd at Bethel Lutheran Church in Astoria, SD.  Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 11 to 1 p.m. on Saturday.  Private family burial will be held at a later date at the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Astoria. Houseman Funeral Home-Birk Chapel in Hendricks is entrusted with the arrangements.

Bradley Dean Vick was born on November 28, 1968 in Hendricks, Minnesota to Darwin Andy and Alice Marie (Odden) Vick. He was raised in Astoria, SD with his 10 siblings and he was baptized and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church. He graduated from Hendricks High School in 1987 and then continued his education at Alexandria Technical Institute and completed his schooling in 1991 with a degree in art. Brad was united in marriage to Amy Bjerke in 2002 and they later divorced in 2021.  Brad worked in various places throughout his life and most recently he was employed with Schwan’s in Marshall, MN. He volunteered with the Astoria and Toronto Fire Departments for many years. He also worked as an EMT for the Deuel County Ambulance.  He enjoyed riding motorcycle, cooking, grilling, smoking meat and baking. Camping, hunting and fishing was something Brad enjoyed for countless years. He also enjoyed drawing and art. Time spent with family and friends was very important to him especially when a good game of Washers was involved.

Grateful for having shared Brad’s life is his mother, Alice Vick, Granite Falls, MN; his siblings: Lynn (Diana) Vick, Astoria, SD, Debra (Terry) Auck, Elkton, SD, Cynthia Graslie, Portland, OR, Charles Vick, Brandt, SD, Kevin Vick, Astoria, SD, Lonnie Vick, Astoria, SD, Lavonne (Joel) Reppe, Clear Lake, SD, Melissa (Brian) Skorczewski, Hendricks, MN, Kari (Alec) Johnson, Sioux Falls, SD; his special friend, Margaret Sawchak, Marshall, MN and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He is preceded in death by his father, Darwin A. Vick; one sister, Lori Wagner and one nephew, Dillon Sommervold.
