Barbara Ann (Mehrhoff) Kissner-Swoboda, age 79 of Redwood Falls passed away Friday, September 11, 2026 at CentraCare – Redwood Hospital due to injuries sustained in a fall. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society are preferred in lieu of flowers. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Barb was born on June 16, 1947 to William and Myrtle Mehrhoff in Willmar, MN. On May 9, 2009, she married her lifelong partner Maynard Swoboda at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Redwoods Falls. Barb was known for many things, but most of all for her unwavering faith, her endless love for family and friends, and the joy she found in blessing others through food. She loved fiercely, gave generously, served faithfully, and cherished deeply. Her greatest legacy is the love she poured into those around her and the family who will miss her dearly.

Barb is survived by her children: Kim (Troy) Drees of Apple Valley, Jeff Kissner of Apache Junction, AZ, Kari (Mike) Hess of Belton, TX, and Kami (Paul) Schneiderman of Gilbert, AZ; grandchildren: Brianna (Steve) Springer, Brittany Engebretson, Joseph Kissner, Jerrilyn (Ben) Dvorak, Jacob Koltveit, Blake (Lexie) Hess, Ethan Hess, and Ava & Will Schneiderman; great grandchildren: Paisley and Porter Springer; sister Diane (Ronnie) Steffens, Paula (Ken) Petra, Linda (Doug) Bohlsen-Johnson, brother-in-law Robert (Jan) Swoboda, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished lifelong friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Swoboda, her parents William and Myrtle Mehrhoff, sister and brother-in-law Gloria and Mark Kottom, brother Gordon “Gordy” Mehrhoff, parents-in-law Joseph and Beatrice Swoboda, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jean and Alvin Wohnoutka, brother-in-law Rodney Swoboda, and the beloved kitties: Eddie and Two-Shoes.
