Arthur Milner, Sr., age 74, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Monday, April 3, 2023, at Heritage Pointe Senior Living in Marshall. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. A Prayer Service will then close the afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall.
Arthur Eugene Milner senior was born on February 6, 1949, in Marshall, Minnesota. He was the son of Edward and Helen (Hellvig) Milner. He grew up in Marshall and was baptized as an infant at First English Lutheran Church. After school Art began working immediately and then enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1969, where he served his country during Vietnam, prior to his honorable discharge in 1974. On June 24, 1967, Art was united in marriage to Sadie (King) in Marshall. The couple made their home in Grand Rapids before moving around the state and then settling in Wilno, Minnesota. Art cared for Sadie’s 5 children and the couple added two more children to their growing family. Some years later, life took Art and Sadie to Arizona where they spent many years before returning to Minnesota in 2020. Art first worked for Appleton Silo and Swift & Company in Marshall. He also spent time at the Agricultural Plant and he drove truck for Highway Services assisting with many construction projects. Art also drove for several local trucking companies prior to his retirement. He was a hardworking man and proud member of the Marshall VFW and American Legion. Art’s enjoyments in life included hunting, fishing, playing billiards, and car races. He had a particular fondness for his 1949 Ford that consumed a lot of his time.
Arthur Milner Sr. died on April 3, 2023, under the care of Hospice at his home. He had reached the age of 74 years, 1 month, and 27 days. Blessed be his memory.
Art is survived by his wife, Sadie Milner of Marshall; 5 children, Donna (and Doug) Dietz of Off-the-grid, WA, Rodney (and Brenda) Gould of Mankato, Mark (and Peg) Gould of Pipestone, Art Jr. (and Michelle) Milner of Cottonwood, Thomas (and Angie) Milner of Fargo, ND; 18 grandchildren, Brandon Milner, Miranda Milner, Mitchell Milner, Olivia Milner, John Gould, Todd Salinas, Matthew Gould, Tanya Gould, James Gould, Roger Gould, Melinda Cermak, Andrew Gould, Mark Gould Jr., Josh Gould, Curtis Gould, Gary Dietz, Joe Dietz, Lisa Dietz; 27 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepdaughter, Marlene Salinas; stepson, Mike Gould; and step-grandsons, Scott Gould and Ted Salinas.
