Annette Joy Foster, age 78 of Walnut Grove, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Avera Hospital in Marshall.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at English Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove.  Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 24 at Walnut Grove Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Monday.  Interment will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery at a later date.  Stephens Funeral Service – Walnut Grove Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Annette Joy Foster was born August 27, 1943 to John and Alice (Lindstrom) Streeter in Slayton, Minnesota.  She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Baptist Church in Westbrook.  As a child she moved to Minnesota Lake with her family and later returned to Westbrook.  In 1961, Annette graduated from Westbrook High School.  She then moved to Tracy and worked as a bookkeeper at Tri-County Co-op, while there she met Allan Foster.  On December 21, 1968, she was united in marriage to Allan at Immanuel Baptist Church in Westbrook.  Together the couple made their home in Walnut Grove and Annette stayed home to raise her family.  After Allan passed away in 1978, she continued strongly on her own to raise their 2 young children, she later worked at Minntronics in Tracy, Steffen Electric, and helped with the Wilder Pageant, until her retirement.  Annette was a very active member of English Lutheran Church.  She was on church council, Sunday School Teacher, Ladies Aid and WELCA board. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.  You could often find Annette sewing and making quilts, doll clothes and dresses.  She enjoyed playing games and baking Christmas cookies with her granddaughters, teaching them to sew and working on crafts.  Her favorite thing in the world was being Grama to 5 wonderful Granddaughters.

Annette is survived by her children: Amy Foster and Andy (Becky) Foster both of Walnut Grove; granddaughters: Steffanie (fiancé Jake) Ankrum of Tower City, ND, Miranda Ankrum of Mankato, Shelby, Sydney & Savannah Foster all of Walnut Grove; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Allan, siblings: Millie Mershon, Donald Streeter and Carol Passer.
