Daryl Prellwitz, age 62, of Canby, MN passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the REM facility in Canby. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic there will be a burial service at a later date. Burial will be in the Alta Vista Cemetery, rural Porter, MN. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Canby is entrusted with the arrangements.
Daryl Edward Prellwitz was born on July 20, 1957 in Canby, Minnesota to parents Marvin Sr. and Alona (Thovson) Prellwitz. He was raised on the family farm near Porter. He attended and graduated from Canby High School in 1979. He held various odd jobs over the years from working for local farmers to working at the turkey plant in Marshall.
Daryl loved social gatherings, especially family gatherings where he could tease and joke with his nieces and nephews. He truly appreciated people around him. He whole heartedly enjoyed his special treats of outings with his girls and Jon at REM in Canby. Listening to classic rock was something Daryl really enjoyed through out his life. He was known to be a very proud Porter supporter.
Grateful for having shared Daryl’s life is his mother, Alona Cahow, Canby; his siblings: his twin, David Prellwitz, Porter; Dorie Kay (Billy) Koska, Clear Lake, SD; Deann (Jeffery) Waller, Anchorage, Alaska; John (Carla) Prellwitz, Shelby, NE; Marvin Jr. (Tanja) Prellwitz, Springfield, MO and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Sr. Prellwitz; stepfather, Donald Cahow; one brother, Dennis Prellwitz; nephews Joshua and Caleb Prellwitz.
