Lonny Dale Turner, age 74 of Tracy, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025 at Sanford Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Breezy Barn, rural Tracy.  The Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home in Tracy is handling the arrangements.

Lonny “Lon” Dale Turner was born to Warren and Marcella (Smith) Turner on October 24, 1950 in Tracy, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tracy and graduated from Tracy High School in 1968. On October 25, 1970, he was united in marriage to Peg Radke. The couple made their home in Garvin and were blessed with two children. During and following high school, Lon farmed with his dad. Lon also worked for Nackerud Trucking where he hauled grain and livestock. He then bought the petroleum/gas station business in Garvin. In 1980, Lonny began working for Lyon County Co-op where he worked until his retirement in 2016. Lon and Peg spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona where he was a member of the Eagles, American Legion, and the Moose Lodge. Lon enjoyed golfing, pool and horseshoe. He also enjoyed many deer camps at the “ranch.” He loved to camp with his family and friends. Lon was a “jack of all trades” he could fix most things or was determined to figure it out. He had a great work ethic and was known to be a hardworking man. Lon enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was very dedicated and took pride in his family.

Lon is survived by his wife Peg; daughter Tammy Peterson and son Chad (Angie) Turner; grandchildren: Nick (Alyssa) Peterson, Jada (Leighton) Turner, Jake (Jayden) Turner and Josh Anderson; great grandchildren: Aiden, Ayla, Elliot and Xviaha; siblings: Jerry (Patty) Turner and Joan (Terry) Nackerud; siblings-in-law: Earl Radke, Floyd (Gail) Radke, Debbie (Brian) Buchert, Nancy (Terry) Carlson, Sandy (Randy) Radke and Roy (Ronda) Radke; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Judy and Gene Brosseau, parents-in-law Martha & Bud Radke, sister-in-law Barb Radke, son-in-law David “Petey” Peterson and nephew Shane Carlson.
