Mass of Christian Burial for John Henry Ahmann, 59, of Idaho Falls, ID, will take place on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Holy Redeemer Church beginning at 11:00 a.m. A public visitation will take place at the church two hours prior to the mass with a Catholic Daughters Rosary at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon will be provided following the service. Burial will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery at a later date. The Horvath Funeral Service in Marshall is handling the arrangements.
John Henry Ahmann was born on March 26, 1965 to Genevieve A. (VanDorpe) and Duane L. Ahmann in Marshall, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Holy Redeemer Church. He graduated from Marshall Senior High School as a part of the Class of 1983. Upon graduation he continued his education at Granite Falls Vo-Tech studying Fluid Power. John married Cindy Johnson at St. Mary’s Chapel at Holy Redeemer School in Marshall, MN. The couple later divorced. John worked for several employers throughout his lifetime. Most recently he was driving truck for RG Transportation LLC. John had many hobbies throughout his lifetime. In high school he played hockey, football and had a passion for sports. He loved animals and had a gift for training hunting dogs. John was an avid outdoorsman and could often be found hunting or fishing. Recently he purchased a Harley Davidson motorcycle and would take rides with many friends.
John died on Saturday, November 9, 2024 as the result of a traffic accident in Childress, TX.
He is survived by his mother Genevieve Ahmann of Marshall, MN; brothers Greg (Deb) Ahmann of Marshall, MN, Mike (Denise) Ahmann of Minneota, MN, Al (Jorun) Ahmann of Minneota, MN, Bryan (Julie) Ahmann of Marshall, MN, Doug (Kris) Ahmann, of West Haven, UT; roommate Jorge Palmerin of Idaho Falls, ID; close friends Pat Stephens and her son Tim of Idaho Falls, ID; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. In John is preceded in death by his father Duane Ahmann; nephew Craig Ahmann.
