Steve was born April 22, 1969 in Tracy, MN to LaMoine & Anita (Bierl) Meyer.  He was baptized and confirmed at Tracy Lutheran Church.  He graduated from Tracy High School in 1987 and attended Granite Falls Vo-Tec for Fluid Power, graduating in 1989.  He then returned home to the family farm and began farming with his dad.  Around that time, Steve also started grading roads for Holly Township, a job he took pride in and held to this day.  On April 27, 1991 Steve was united in marriage to forever friend and love of his life, Kari Hansen, at Tracy Lutheran Church.  Together the couple made their home south of Tracy where they raised their three children.  Steve was always busy doing something!  He served on the Monroe Township board for many years.  He held many roles at the Tracy Eagles Club including Trustee, Treasurer and currently Manager.  He recently was awarded Boss of the Year by the Tracy Chamber.  He also served on the CHS board and was a lifetime member of Tracy Lutheran Church where he was on the church council and was an usher.  Steve had a quick wit and many classic “one liners” always delivered with his classic smirk and memorable laugh.   He was often playing jokes, or more accurately, being an insufferable smart-ass, to those he loved.  However, Steve also worked harder than most, never asking for or accepting help.  He was an absolute perfectionist who couldn’t rest until things were done right.  Steve took care of everything and everyone.  He would do all he could to make things better for those he cared about, always.  He enjoyed riding his Harleys and going on annual trips to Sturgis.  He loved spending time with his many friends whether it be golfing on Men’s Day or in Arizona; playing in pool league and tournaments with the same four friends for over thirty years; or just relaxing and socializing with a good bourbon in hand.  But most of all, Steve was proud of and loved spending time with his family, especially the grandbabies.

Steve is survived by his wife Kari, of 33 years; children: Kylie Meyer of Tracy, Alex Meyer (fiancé Marcy Lance) of Marshall, & Delaynie Meyer of Tracy; grandchildren: Aubri, Emery, Avery, & Violet; brother Larry (Adrienne) Meyer of Radcliff, KY; sister Lanette Rayburn of Redwood Falls; nieces: Sam, Kris, & Kimmie; mother-in-law Marilyn Hansen, his constant companion “Sweetie”; and many in-laws, other relatives and friends.  Steve is preceded in death by his parents, nephew Tony, niece Maddy, father-in-law Richard Hansen and his dog Harley.
