Jens Lloyd Dahl was born July 4, 1936, to Jens and Helen (Nelsen) Dahl in Lake Benton, Minnesota. He was baptized August 26, 1936, at his home and confirmed in the spring of 1951 at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church in Diamond Lake Township, Minnesota. Lloyd spent his life in Lake Benton farming and retired in 1998. He was united in marriage to Carol on December 31, 2007, in Ivanhoe, Minnesota. Together they made their home in Lake Benton. In 2008, Lloyd received his high school diploma in Lake Benton’s last graduating class. Lloyd passed away surrounded by his family Saturday, July 24, 2021, at his home in Lake Benton.

Lloyd was a member and usher at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lake Benton and served by faithfully opening and closing the church each day. He was formerly a council member of Grace Lutheran Church, board member of the Diamond Lake Cemetery, and the Diamond Lake Township Board Clerk for nearly 50 years. In his younger years he enjoyed fast pitch softball.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Carol Dahl of Lake Benton; children, Penny (Roy) Lietz of Ivanhoe, Todd (Alex) Dahl of Lewisville, Texas, and Kyle (Becki) Dahl of Brookings, South Dakota; extended family, Mike Wissman of Gun Barrel City, Texas, Tammy (Jim) Hensley of Cathlamet, Washington, Rebecca Wissman of Rosemond, California, and Amy (Jerrean) De Boer of Lake Benton; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jens and Helen Dahl and his brother, Mel Jensen.
