WABASSO – A Wheaton woman is dead after her vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer on State Highway 68 in Redwood County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 12:35 Monday afternoon, 25-year-old Morgan Lee Grunewald of Wheaton was driving a 2016 Ford F150 northbound on County Road 6 while 63-year-old Steven Joseph Pohlen of Redwood Falls was driving a 2015 International tractor truck eastbound on State Highway 68 when they collided in the intersection. 

Morgan Lee Grunewald was pronounced dead at the scene. Three of her passengers, girls ages 4, 2, and 1, were transported to the Redwood Falls hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  

Steven Joseph Pohlen was transported to the Redwood Falls hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Assistance was provided by the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, Wabasso Fire and Medical, CentraCare Ambulance, and North Memorial Air Care.  

UPDATE: A GoFundMe has been set up for the family of a Wheaton woman that died in a traffic collision in Redwood County. Morgan Grunewald passed away on Monday, June 3rd, leaving behind her husband and three daughters. Funds raised will go towards the cost of the funeral, bills, and future expenses.
