BOON LAKE TOWNSHIP — On Sunday at 12:47 pm, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting a vehicle accident on County Road 20, north of County Road 11 intersection. The 2014 Chevrolet Captiva SUV, driven by 60-year-old Becky Chase of Bird Island, went off the road, hit a field approach, and landed in the ditch.
Four passengers were in the vehicle: 28-year-old Natasha Chase of Olivia, a 10-year-old juvenile male, an 8-year-old juvenile male, and a 5-year-old juvenile male, all from Litchfield. All occupants were taken by ambulance to Health Partners-Hutchinson. The two juveniles, aged 5 and 8, were airlifted by Life Link III helicopter to Children’s Hospital of Minneapolis for further care.
The crash is under investigation, with assistance from Buffalo Lake Fire, Buffalo Lake Ambulance, Hector Ambulance, Allina Ambulance-Hutchinson, Hutchinson Fire, and the Minnesota State Patrol.
