REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. — The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office responded early Friday morning to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of County State Aid Highway 24 and Noble Avenue in rural Redwood County. 

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 3:04 a.m. on Nov. 7 when a southbound 2016 Chevrolet Equinox failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a 2018 Jeep Cherokee. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch on the south side of CSAH 24 with moderate to severe damage. 

The driver of the Equinox, 30-year-old Cole James Reinarts of Sleepy Eye, told deputies he did not stop at the intersection. His passenger, Francheska Victoria Montemayor, also of Sleepy Eye, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. 

The Jeep Cherokee was driven by 28-year-old Zaya Luu of Redwood Falls. His passenger, Angelina Breeze Arnold of Willmar, was transported to CentraCare Hospital in Redwood Falls with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Deputies said alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash. A citation was issued, and no arrests were made. 

The Lower Sioux Tribal Police Department and CentraCare Ambulance assisted at the scene.
