Two People Injured in Collision at US Hwy 14 and State Highway 92 Intersection 

BALATON — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision in Lyon County on Monday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. At approximately 1:18 Monday afternoon, a 2005 Ford F150 being driven by 74-year-old Raymond Elgin Schmidt of Marshall, was traveling southbound on State Highway 91. A 2012 Ford Fusion being driven by 20-year-old Austin Brian Allen of Beaver Creek, was traveling westbound on US Highway 14 when the vehicles collided in the intersection. 

Raymond Schmidt sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Marshall hospital. 

Austin Allen also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Tyler hospital. 

Assistance was provided by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Balaton Ambulance, Balaton Fire Department, Tyler Ambulance, and the Minnesota DNR.
