“Joker: Folie á Deux” may have been a massive disappointment, but killer clowns haven’t fallen completely out of favor.

“Terrifier 3”, the unrated gorefest featuring the Art the Clown, was a surprise hit at the box office, taking in $18.2 million in its opening weekend, and making it the #1 movie in the country.

Meanwhile, “Joker” dropped 81%, the worst second-weekend decline in history for a comic book movie, and one of the worst overall.

The animated DreamWorks movie “The Wild Robot” finished second this weekend, with $13.4 million.
