MARSHALL — The Kitchen Table Food Shelf program of United Community Action Partnership has been awarded a community impact grant from the United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) for a total of $40,822. According to a press release, the funds will be used to help fund the Kitchen Table Food Shelves in Tracy and Marshall to address food insecurity needs.

Community impact grants are the main way UWSWMN invests donations back into our communities. The community impact grant process involves local volunteers who help review funding requests and work together to make funding recommendations to our board of directors. For the 2022-23 funding cycle a total of $212,822 has been awarded through this process to programs working to improve the lives of local people.
