IVANHOE — A motorcyclist that led police on a high-speed chase Monday evening made his first court appearance on Tuesday in Lincoln County. According to court records, 20-year-old Carson Russell Bundy of Brookings, SD, appeared in court and is facing charges including fleeing in a motor vehicle, careless driving, and speeding.  

The criminal complaint alleges a Tyler police officer observed a motorcycle operated by Bundy traveling at a high rate of speed on U.S. Highway 14 west of Tyler. The officer activated his emergency lights and attempted to pull Bundy over, however Bundy accelerated his motorcycle to speeds of 119 miles per hour. Once the motorcycle reached 130 miles per hour, the pursuit was called off. According to the criminal complaint, a Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy continued the pursuit and pulled Bundy over.  

Bail was set at $10,000 without conditions, or $5,000 with conditions. A future hearing date for Bundy was set for Thursday in Lincoln County Court.
