Sandra Lee “Sandy” Schrupp was born on May 21, 1948, in Redwood Falls, to Franklin and Betty (Benson) Schrupp. Sandy grew up in Wood Lake and attended St. John’s Parochial School through the eighth grade, and was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake in 1962. She graduated from Wood Lake High School in 1966. After graduation, she attended Granite Falls Area Vo-Tech, studying to be a secretary. She worked for a time in Minneapolis at Woolworth’s before moving to Hawaii for two years. After moving back to the Twin Cities, Sandy spent about 20 years as an executive secretary at International Multi Foods, followed by about 20 years at General Mills.  Family was most important to Sandy. She called her mother Betty every day, and she loved to bring clothes when she came to visit. Sandy treated her many nieces and nephews as her own children. She also enjoyed playing cards with her aunts and uncles. Sandy was a long-time member of Bloomington Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping, and visiting estate sales. Sandy had been living in Chanhassen after retirement until moving to Alexandria to be closer to family following a recent illness.

Sandy died on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Grand Arbor Assisted Living in Alexandria, under the care of Knute Nelson Hospice. She is survived by her mother Betty (Schrupp) Jeseritz of Granite Falls, brothers Delano (JoAnne) of Alexandria, John (Beverly) of Marshall, Randy (Robin) of Pierre, SD, and Harvey of State Center, IA; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Franklin Schrupp.
