Roger A. Vick, age 76, of Hendricks, MN passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Hendricks Nursing Home in Hendricks, MN. Funeral Services have been POSTPONED until Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2 pm at Christ Lutheran Church in Hendricks with visitation from 1 pm to 2 pm. Burial will be in the East Hendricks Cemetery, Hendricks. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Hendricks is entrusted with the arrangements.
Roger A. Vick was born on August 8, 1946 in Hendricks, Minnesota to Sigurd and Annie (Johnsen) Vick. He was raised on a farm near Lake Benton, MN and attended District #16 Country School through the 8th grade and then graduated from Lake Benton High School. When Roger was 6 years old, he contracted Polio. He was united in marriage to Janice Peterson on June 21, 1969 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Hendricks. Following their marriage, they lived in Hendricks where Roger would work as a TV technician and also worked at Vick’s Grocery until his health failed. Janice passed away at the age of 44 on November 15, 1994. Roger remained in Hendricks and enjoyed many years with his special friend Sandy Bergstrom. When Polio began affecting him physically, Roger decided to enter the Hendricks Nursing Home. Roger was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. He loved music and playing the drums, gardening and the Lord. He also enjoyed fishing, watching sports and spending time with his family.
He passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2022 at the Hendricks Nursing Home at the age of 76.
He is survived by his siblings: Laverne Morseth, Northfield, MN, Donald Vick, Redwood Falls, MN and Judy Osmond, Spring, TX and many nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; wife Janice; special friend Sandy; brothers: Merlin Vick, Bernell Vick, Sigurd Vick, Jr., and Darwin Vick; and two sisters: Darlene Kennedy and Adlade Bluhm.
