Richard “Dick” P. Rybinski, age 78 of Hendricks passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the Sanford Medical Center, Canby. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at St. John Cantius Catholic Church, Wilno, MN. Burial will be at the St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Wilno. Visitation will be from 5 -7 pm with the Rosary at 4:30 pm and a Prayer Service at 7 pm on Tuesday, May 30th at the St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno and will continue Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Hendricks, MN is entrusted with the arrangements.

Richard “Dick” P. Rybinski was born on May 26, 1944, on the family farm in Royal Township, Lincoln County, Minnesota to Joseph F. and Leokadia (Pruszynski) Rybinski. He attended Ivanhoe Public School, graduating in 1962. Following graduation, he worked on the family farm. Richard entered into the U. S. Army and served from July 29, 1965, to April 28, 1967, during the Vietnam War.  He was united into marriage to the love of his life, Kaleen Dorenkamper on June 20, 1970, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe, MN. They lived and farmed near Hendricks and were blessed with three daughters. Richard was a lifelong member of St. John Cantius Church where he was an usher and received all his sacraments. He served on the Hendricks Elevator Board for many years. Richard was a man of deep faith and instilled it in his children and grandchildren. In 1989, he was dealt a debilitating stroke which took him away from the farming that he loved, he continued to farm through watching nephews and neighbors by checking the crops on his golf cart. Richard enjoyed taking in his grandchildren’s many musical or athletic activities. He enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, bowling, playing cards, listening to polka music and watching Minnesota Sports, especially the Twins, Vikings and Gophers. Sundays were always a day for family and rest, and his table was always full at noon for a family meal and day to visit. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his greatest treasure and he loved them dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kaleen; children: Cheryl (Dan) Downing of Ivanhoe, MN, Marie (Rick) Bothe of Brookings, SD, and Karen (Greg) King of Rogers, MN; grandchildren: Brooklynn, Braxton and Brayden Downing, Austin (Melissa) Redenius, Kayla (Jeffrey) Johnson, Zackary & Levi Bothe, Drew and Mia King; great grandchildren: RiverLynn Johnson and Colton Redenius; siblings: Mary Pavek, Agnes Rybinski, Regina Rybinski and Gene (Kathy) Rybinski; sister-in-law, Karen Lingen; brothers-in-law, Larry Dorenkamper, Rollyn Dorenkamper and Keith (Monica) Dorenkamper and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph F. and Leokadia; siblings: Hedwig Citterman, Raymond, Susanna, Irene, Anton, Bernard, and Joseph A. Rybinski. Blessed be his memory.
