BIRD ISLAND — A residential fire in Bird Island has left a home completely destroyed. The blaze was reported on August 13, 2024, at approximately 12:28 PM, in the 800 block of Oak Avenue. When emergency crews arrived, they found the residence fully engulfed in flames.
Despite efforts to contain the fire, the home was declared a total loss. The Bird Island Fire Department led the firefighting efforts, with assistance from the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Olivia Fire Department, Bird Island Medical Response Unit, and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Authorities, including the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office, Bird Island Fire Department, and Renville County Sheriff’s Office, are actively investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
