Raymond Francis Haneca was born on December 18, 1951 in Marshall, MN to Joseph and Margaret (Thieren) Haneca. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood, MN. He was raised on the Haneca Family Farm while attending school in Woodlake, MN graduating in 1969. Following graduation he attended Granite Falls Vo-Tech. Ray met the love of his life, Donna Moen in 1967 at a teen dance. They were blessed with three children Micki, David and Brandy. Ray was a jack of all trades from farming to factory work and taking over Viv’s Place to becoming the proud owner of Ray’s Auto Parts and Haneca’s Roofing. He enjoyed classic cars, motorcycles, watching Minnesota sports, fishing and most of all shooting pool. He was a member of the Granite/Monte Pool League for years. During many successful seasons and wins along the way, what meant most to him were the friends he made.  When it came to family, Ray had a unique way of showing his affection. Whether it was a fun nickname or a silly remark we always knew it was his way of saying “I love you.” He thoroughly enjoyed sharing and teaching his hobbies to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved catching a break and cracking a beer with the men that his “girls” brought into his life. Ray had a love for his four-legged family, his German Shepherds.  Many words could be used to describe Ray: intelligent, witty, hardworking and determined. But most would call him a fighter.Ray passed peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 16th, 2023 in the arms of his loving wife Donna. He is survived by his wife Donna, his children Micki McFall (Diego), David Haneca and Brandy King; nine grandchildren Alesha Ryer (Adam), Weston Kalsnes (Ashley), Slater O’Connor (Angelica), Brook O’Connor (Julian), Raelynn Krueger (Collin), Kaitlynn Lien (Jacob), Ashlynn Lien, AJ Benson and Jocelynn Mock; eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way; five siblings Richard, Larry (Pat), Dariel (AnaMarie), Jolene (Walker), Darwin and many nieces, nephews and extended family.  Ray is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Margaret; parents-in-law Raymond and Bette Moen; three sisters-in-law Heidi Haneca, Pat Haneca and Claire Moen; five brothers-in-law John, Jerry, Jackie, Butch and Randy Moen; his beloved German Shepherds.
