PIPESTONE – A Pipestone woman was injured, and a Pipestone man was uninjured when their vehicle lost control near Pipestone Monday afternoon. 

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at approximately 1:09 Monday afternoon, a 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass was traveling eastbound on Highway 30 in Pipestone County when it lost control and left the roadway. 

A passenger in the Oldsmobile, 51-year-old Jennifer Kay Stewart of Pipestone, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Pipestone hospital.  

The driver of the Oldsmobile, 57-year-old Forrest Melvin Erks of Pipestone, was not injured. The report notes alcohol was detected in Erks’ system, and he was not wearing his seat belt.
