DESCRIPTION:Mingle with a Purpose: Women’s Networking Event Returns in 2026 \n  \nNew Ulm\, MN— The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to host its 12th annual Mingle with a Purpose: Women’s Networking Event\, a meaningful evening designed to bring women together for connection\, inspiration\, and personal and professional growth.  The event will take place on Thursday\, February 19\, 2026\, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Best Western Plus – New Ulm Conference Center. \n\nMingle with a Purpose is open to all women and offers a welcoming space to network\, build relationships\, and leave feeling energized and encouraged—whether attendees are focused on career development\, personal growth\, or simply connecting with other women in the community.  In this high-energy\, interactive keynote by local speaker Ann Vote\, women are invited to Reflect on their journey\, Realign their vision for what’s possible\, and Rise into bold\, purposeful action.  Blending powerful storytelling with audience engagement\, this session helps women connect with their inner fire and own the influence they bring to the world.  Through meaningful conversations and guided reflection\, attendees will gain clarity on what they truly want—and the confidence to go after it.  Whether they’re navigating transition\, craving more alignment\, or simply ready for what’s next\, attendees will leave with a personal action plan and the renewed belief that she can create a life of intention\, purpose\, and impact. \n\nEach participant will receive an Ignite Your Impact Workbook to keep their reflections\, ideas\, and action plan at hand during and following the event.  The goal is to have a lasting impact on the women in the room to truly go after the dreams they may have tucked away. \n\nDoors will open at 5:00 p.m. for mingling\, heavy hors d’oeuvres\, and a cash bar\, with the program beginning at 6:00 p.m.  Tickets are $40 for Chamber members and $45 for the general public. Early-bird pricing is $5 less and available through January 31!  Tickets are available at the Chamber office (1 N. DESCRIPTION:Events starting Friday November 28 and going on until Saturday November 29. \nThe holiday season is right around the corner\, and New Ulm is ready to celebrate in true “Christmas City” style with the 37th Annual Parade of Lights on Friday\, November 28! Organized by the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce\, this beloved tradition begins at 6:00 p.m.\, illuminating Minnesota Street from 4th South to 4th North. For safety and visibility\, there will be no parking on Minnesota Street from 1st South to 4th North during the event. \nDowntown New Ulm will sparkle with Christmas trees\, wreaths\, and thousands of twinkling lights\, creating the perfect backdrop for an evening filled with holiday cheer. The parade\, which celebrates the start of the season and officially welcomes Santa Claus to town\, will feature around 70 entries from area businesses\, organizations\, and community groups. Each float will be lit up with festive displays\, with Santa Claus making his grand entrance atop the historic New Ulm fire truck! \nBefore the parade begins\, visitors are invited to spend the day in New Ulm at the inaugural Weihnachts Markt – New Ulm Holiday Market\, taking place in German Park from 12-5pm (food trucks start at 11am). This festive outdoor market features vendors\, live entertainment\, live reindeer\, fire pits and more – offering the perfect way to enjoy the holiday spirit before the parade steps off. The event in German Park concludes at 5pm when Mayor Backer will lead the Official Lighting of New Ulm’s 40’ Upside-Down Christmas Tree\, a unique lighted display that will stay on display through New Year’s Day. \nVisitors are also encouraged to spend the afternoon exploring downtown shops and restaurants\, many of which will be open with special holiday offerings. It’s the perfect opportunity to browse\, dine\, and enjoy New Ulm’s welcoming holiday atmosphere before making your way to the parade route. While shopping and dining\, don’t forget to pick up a #LoyalToLocalNU Holiday Passport\, available at participating businesses and online at newulm.com. DESCRIPTION:The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the return of the New Ulm Downtown Car & Bike Roll-In series\, kicking off on Saturday\, August 16\, from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in historic downtown New Ulm. \nBack in its second year\, the Roll-In series invites car and motorcycle enthusiasts of all ages to display and admire a wide range of classic vehicles – no registration required. Minnesota Street\, from 3rd North to 1st South\, will be closed to traffic and open for guests to stroll through and enjoy the vehicles and community atmosphere. Vehicle owners may also pick up a registration card upon arrival to display in their window and enter for a chance to win prizes. \nIn addition to the showcase of vehicles\, attendees can enjoy live DJ music outdoors during the event\, with music continuing indoors until 11:00 p.m. The August 16 Roll-In will also feature food trucks offering a variety of delicious options: Legacy BBQ\, Lola’s Food Truck\, Jersey’s Food Truck\, and NU Franklin Mobile. Visitors are encouraged to explore downtown shops\, dine at local restaurants\, and enjoy beverages from participating establishments. Alcoholic beverages purchased from downtown bars and restaurants may be consumed on the street within the designated event area; however\, glass containers are not allowed. \nAdmission is free\, and all are welcome to attend. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nSpikin’ In the Street – Downtown Sand Volleyball Tournament \nNew Ulm\, MN— Get ready to dig\, spike\, and dive at the third annual New Ulm Spikin’ in the Street Sand Volleyball Tournament – right in the heart of the historic downtown! On August 1-2\, 2025\, the streets of New Ulm will be transformed into a thrilling beach volleyball arena\, where 88 teams from all over the region will compete for glory and bragging rights. This action-packed event is a summer highlight\, bringing together athletes\, sports enthusiasts\, and community members of all ages. Last year we expanded into a second block and added four additional courts\, bringing in 1300 tons of sand (70 dump trucks!) to transform the street! Spectators are welcome (bring your lawn chair)! There will be a DJ all day\, a sandcastle area for kiddos\, food vendors on site\, and commemorative merchandise for sale. Gather your friends and join us for a day of sun-soaked excitement as we celebrate the spirit of sand volleyball in the heart of New Ulm. Mark your calendars and get ready to serve up some serious fun! The tournament will take place all day on Saturday\, August 2nd\, but join the pre-party in the sand on Friday\, August 1st from 5-11pm. \nRegistration is closed\, but the public is invited to enjoy the festivities and cheer on their favorite team. There are 4 divisions (A\, B\, C and Rec) with cash payouts for each division. Pool play will be followed by a single elimination tournament. There will be a DJ all day\, a sandcastle area and bounce house for kiddos\, food vendors on site\, and commemorative merchandise for sale. DESCRIPTION:The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce has recently restarted the young professionals’ group – HYPE (Helping Young Professionals Evolve)!  HYPE helps 21 to 40-year-olds with networking\, professional development\, and building connections in our community. The HYPE program stopped during COVID and restarted just a few months ago. \n\nAnyone between the ages of 21 and 40 who is employed in the New Ulm area\, or employed elsewhere and living in New Ulm\, is invited to attend the HYPE Happy Hour on Thursday\, April 17\, 2025\, 5-7pm at Black Frost Distilling.  There will be a short program\, which will include a networking game with a prize of drink tickets to all participants. This is a free event for anyone interested in joining or learning more about the HYPE initiative.  There will be free pizza provided.
