Nancy Lay, age 57, of Canby, MN passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at the Sanford USC Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will be from 2-3 pm on Monday, February 7, 2022, at the Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Canby, MN with a private burial following at Canby Cemetery.

Nancy Lay was born on April 24, 1964, to Virgil C. and Jane D. (Peroceschi) Lay in Montevideo, MN. Nancy was a long-time resident of REM in Canby. She was loved by all who knew her. She loved her work, activities, and staff at Canby DAC. Her favorite hobbies were watching TV, especially Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and The Golden Girls. She loved country music, especially Kenny Chesney, and playing her keyboard. Nancy was a ray of sunshine to everyone. She will be forever missed. Her journey was hard, but now she can be at peace.
She is lovingly remembered by her mother Janet Lay, Canby, MN; and two sisters, Jacqueline (Wayne) Matthes, Las Vegas, NV and Patricia (Dennis) Ayers, Browerville MN. She was preceded in death by her father Virgil Lay, two sisters, Juanita Lay and Valerie Williams, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
