(KMHL) — Minnesotans are encouraged to wear orange today for “Unity Day” to help raise awareness about bullying.  Julie Hertzog is director of Pacer’s National Bullying Prevention Center and says bullying doesn’t stop when the school day ends. She says, “If you think about it, kids used to have sort of a safe haven when they went home from school, they could block out the bullying. But now when the kids are accessing their phones, or their tablets, or their desktop computers — with social media. Literally, it’s 24-7.”

It’s estimated one-in-four school-aged children will experience bullying this year.
