(Undated) — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced that residents in 19 counties across Minnesota are now eligible to request individual assistance under an expanded federal disaster declaration following severe storms on June 16th. This assistance was requested by Governor Tim Walz and Minnesota’s congressional delegation after damage assessments revealed significant destruction to homes and businesses statewide. The affected counties include Blue Earth, Cook, Cottonwood, Faribault, Freeborn, Goodhue, Itasca, Jackson, Lake, Le Sueur, Mower, Nicollet, Nobles, Rice, Rock, St. Louis, Steele, Waseca, and Watonwan. FEMA has indicated that additional counties may be included based on further damage assessments. Flood victims in these areas are encouraged to apply for assistance on FEMA’s website, disasterassistance.gov.
