MARSHALL (KMHL) – Marshall Police officers will soon be wearing body cameras.

The Marshall City Council approved a proposal to start a body-worn camera program at their regular meeting last night.

Council members also approved the purchase of around $50,000 worth of equipment to get the program started. Police will use money from its forfeiture fund to pay for the cameras.

The program will allow the city’s officers to join a growing trend of officers around the state and country wearing the cameras.
