MARSHALL – A Marshall man is in critical condition following a two-vehicle collision north of Marshall on Wednesday, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 2:30PM, a 2023 Kenworth semi and trailer collided with a Chevy Equinox at the intersection of State Highway 23 and County Road 33.
Upon arrival, emergency responders located the driver of the Equinox trapped within the vehicle and required extrication by the Marshall Fire Department. David Dalle of Marshall was airlifted to the Avera McKennan hospital in Sioux Falls by LifeLink Air Ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Kenworth, Kirk Buckallew of Lancaster, Missouri, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and as being assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol.
