REDWOOD FALLS, MN — On July 16, 2024, police officers in Redwood Falls responded to a tense situation involving 29-year-old Joshua David Pantizke, of Belview, MN. Acting on information that Pantizke, wanted on arrest warrants in Sibley and Hennepin Counties, might be at 240 South Washington Street, officers found him working on the roof of a building under renovation.
Upon arrival, officers instructed Pantizke to come down, but he refused, becoming agitated as they approached him on the roof. Threatening to jump, Pantizke prompted the activation of the Brown/Lyon/Redwood/Renville Emergency Response Unit’s Negotiator Team.
After several hours of negotiation, Pantizke voluntarily descended from the roof and was taken to Centra Care-Redwood Hospital without incident. Law enforcement confirmed that no force was used during the resolution.
Assisting in the operation were the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Lower Sioux Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, BLRR/ERU Negotiator Team, Centra Care Ambulance, and Redwood Falls Fire Department.
