Lorraine Frances Lipinski was born September 3, 1931 in Marble Township, Lincoln County, Minnesota to Michael and Emily (Ratajczak) Skorczewski. She attended Country School District #35 and graduated from Canby High School in 1949. She worked as a hired girl for neighbors doing childcare and other chores like milking, gardening, housekeeping and whatever needed to be done.  On September 19, 1949, Lorraine was united in marriage to Alvin Lipinski, and they made their home on the Lipinski homestead. Alvin and Lorraine were blessed with seven children. After her children grew up and left home, she and Alvin did daycare for 16 years for special neighbors Mike and Teresa Drietz.  Alvin passed away on September 28, 2015. Lorraine entered Minneota assisted living before moving to the Hendricks Nursing Home. Lorraine passed away peacefully with Doreen by her side on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at the Hendricks Nursing Home at the age of 93.  Lorraine was a member of St. John Cantius Catholic Church where she was a CCD teacher and Circle chairman at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno. Lorraine’s Catholic faith was very important to her and would say the rosary every evening and was part of a prayer chain. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. She always had a big vegetable garden along with beautiful flower gardens. She was a wonderful homemaker and would bake homemade bread, rolls and buns. If you were walking onto the yard, you would smell the aroma of her fresh baked bread and come in for that first slice right out of the oven. She also liked sewing and mending. She knitted sweaters and afghans and embroidered many dish towels. She liked old time music and she and Alvin danced to many Waltzes and Polkas. She had a great love for little children and cherished her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and “the neighbor kids”.

She is lovingly remembered by her six children: Diane (Jim) High, Roger (Sharon) Lipinski, Deb (Darren) Maranell, Randy Lipinski, Rod Lipinski, and Doreen Lipinski; grandchildren: Kaury (Paul) Sterling, Shannon High, Jake (Allyson) High, Nathan (Kelly) Lipinski, Megan Lipinski, Samantha Maranell, Erin, Steve, Joe, and Lisa Lipinski; great-grandchildren; sister Elaine Stynski; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Miller, Joan Lipinski and Alice Skorczewski, and many nieces and nephews.  Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alvin; son Ron; sisters: Irene Lasnetski, Delores Citterman and Rose Ann Stynski; and brothers Edwin Skorczewski and George Skorczewski.

Mom will be greatly missed for making the holidays extra special, for her unending prayers for her family, and her wonderful wit. Blessed be her memory. Love and miss you mom.
