Ken Kroll, age 71, of Wood Lake, Minnesota, died on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center. A private burial took place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Kenneth James Kroll was born April 14, 1950, at Fort Ord in Marina, California. He grew up in California and later Washington state. He attended school in Monroe, Washington, and during high school he joined the United States Marine Corps. He served honorably for three tours in Vietnam and then joined the Navy in further service to his country. Upon his return home he worked in the logging industry until he met Miss Imelda Marlene Dodge at age 30.  Marlene and Ken were married on January 17, 1981, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  The couple made their home shortly thereafter in Mankato, Saint Peter, and Red Wing, Minnesota, before moving to the Wood Lake area. Ken worked various construction jobs throughout the years and enjoyed spending time outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He was a longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Ken died on January 8, 2022, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, Minnesota. He reached the age of 71 years, 8 months, and 25 days. Blessed be his memory.

He is survived by his wife Marlene Kroll of Marshall; daughter, Tena Kroll of Forks, WA; step-children, Nels (and Jamie) Swenning of Cannon Falls, David (and Ronda) Swenning of Red Wing, Ilah (and Chris) Wolter of Crosby, ND; 9 grandchildren; brothers, Victor Anderson of Bellevue, WA, Guy “Speedy” Anderson of Gold Bar, WA; sister, Donnis Kroll of Everett, WA; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.  Ken was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher Swenning; brother, Scott Anderson; and sister, Lea Anderson.
