Jerome W. Timm age 77 of Wood Lake, MN died Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 31, 2019 and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family.
Jerome W. Timm was born August 5, 1941 to Walter and Ella (Schmidt) Timm in Wood Lake, MN. As a child he grew up on a farm in Minnesota Falls Township near Wood Lake, attended elementary school at St. John’s Lutheran School in Wood Lake and graduated from Wood Lake High School in 1959.
On April 1, 1961 Jerome married Darlene Jenni at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waterloo, WI. They made their home on a farm in Wood Lake Township in 1962 and they continued to live there. A farmer his whole life, Jerome was active on the Equity Elevator Board for nineteen years and served as vice-president during his time on the board. He was also very active in his church. Jerome was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake, serving six year terms over the years as Elder and Chairman of the church. He also served on the St. John’s Cemetery board. He was a past president and member of the Valley Riders Saddle Club and Wagon Master of the Minnesota Valley Wagon Train.
Jerome loved farming, but had many other interests including his horses, trail riding, driving and training horses, wagon trains and attending horse shows. He would also take his ponies in many parades, weddings, thrashing and farm shows, give wagon and sleigh rides, and raised many charitable funds by attending wagon trains. He also loved story telling, reading, hunting, fishing, traveling, football, choir and organ music, and especially attending his children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s many activities.
On Saturday, July 27, 2019 Jerome died at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 77.
Jerome is survived by his wife, Darlene Timm of Wood Lake, MN; one daughter, Jennifer (Greg) Dukleth of Windom, MN; three sons, Rollin (Bonnie) Timm of New Ulm, MN, Lyle (Christie) Timm of Franklin, MN and Warren (Joni) Timm of Sparta, WI; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; four brothers, Charles (Marla) Timm of Cottonwood, MN, Kenneth (Tamara) Timm of Hanley Falls, MN, Walter Jr. (Lois) Timm of Granite Falls, MN and John (Judy) Timm of Wood Lake, MN; one brother-in-law, Richard Letcher,; one sister-in-law, Gayle Jenni; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ella Timm; his in-laws, Walter and Lorena Jenni; sister, Rebecca Letcher; brother-in-law, Roger Jenni and Sister-in-law, Joy Ann O’Quinn.
