Jeanette Hauschild, age 97, of Cottage Grove, MN formerly of Ivanhoe and Hendricks, MN, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the White Pines Assisted Living in Cottage Grove, MN. Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2021, in the Hendricks City Cemetery in Hendricks, MN with Rev. Al Molascon officiating.

Jeanette Hauschild was born March 21, 1924, on the family farm in Drammen Township, Lincoln County, Minnesota to Clarence and Florence (Secor) Western. She was raised in Lincoln County where she graduated from Lake Benton High School. She furthered her education at the University of Minnesota and received her master’s degree from South Dakota State University.  She was united in marriage to Fred Hauschild on June 26, 1946. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm near Hendricks, Minnesota where they raised their three children. Jeanette served as the Extension Agent for Lincoln County for many years. Jeanette and Fred moved to Ivanhoe, MN where following her retirement, she operated the Weaver’s Haus Bed and Breakfast in Ivanhoe, MN. Fred passed away in 1991. She continued to live in Ivanhoe until she moved to Marshall, MN. In 2016, she moved to Cottage Grove, MN where she lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Sid and Judy. In August of 2021, she moved to the White Pines Assisted Living in Cottage Grove, MN.  Jeanette was a former member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hendricks, MN. Faith was an extremely important part of Jeanette’s life, going on numerous faith mission trips around the world. She was also actively involved in 4-H, Weaver’s Guild, Horticulture Club (was a Master Gardener) and Senior College.

She is lovingly remembered by her two sons: Wayne (Cheryl) Hauschild, Hendricks, MN, and Sidney (Judy) Hauschild, Cottage Grove, MN; seven grandchildren: Amy (Chris) Clarke, Wendy (Ryan) Brackey, Jody (Andy) Kvernmo, Dustin (Sheri) Hauschild, Ryan Hauschild, Rory Hauschild and Tiffany (Andy) Fuenffinger; and 13 great grandchildren.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband Fred, daughter Natalie Hauschild, parents and two brothers, Wendell and Ralph Western.
